Kutsu Clifton Karhun Näyttelyyn

Tolman Collection's Shanghai gallery järjestää ainutlaatuisen tilaisuuden päästä tutustumaan taiteen maailmaan uuden tornin korkeuksissa. Galleria avaa tuolloin Clifton Karhun näyttelyn 'Woodblock prints of Karhu (1927-2007)" SWFC:n Park Hyatt -hotellissa.

Ovet ovat auki VAIN yhdistyksemme jäsenille ja heidän kutsuvierailleen torstaina 16.4. klo 18.30-21.30. Näyttely jatkuu julkisena sunnuntaihin saakka ollen avoinna päivittäin klo 11-19. Kruunaa iltasi lunastamalla itsellesi jokin taiteilijan alkuperäisteoksista tai vaikka maistamalla herkkuja hotellin ravintolassa.

INVITATION TO THE KARHU OPENING

Dear Member of the SHANGHAIN SUOMALAISET,
 
What was to be just a regular meeting of our group of Finns, in a sudden, unexpected development has turned out to be our chance to experience what will indeed be remembered as a very special gathering of all Finns in Shanghai. Through the cooperation of the Tolman Collection's Shanghai gallery, the opening of an exhibition of the woodblock prints of Clifton Karhu, has been changed from the Tolman Collection's premises to the 86th floor of the new and exciting　Park Hyatt Hotel in Pudong. By special arrangement with the Hotel, Mr. Tolman has arranged an exclusive, for the Finnish community only, event on Thursday evening, April 16, from 18.30-21.30.

A special selection of woodblock prints by Karhu (1927 - 2007) the American-born Finn who became world-famous, first in Japan, and then throughout the United States, and finally at 60 when he appreciated his Finnish roots (both his parents were born in Finland) will be shown and for sale on the 86th floor of the hotel.  This is wonderful chance for our Finnish community to enjoy this elegant and luxurious hotel whose accouterments overshadow any museum in Shanghai while visiting the exhibition of the special selection of Karhu's work, including many last-copy works no longer available.

The hotel has made the exhibition space available for the Tolman Collection's use for four special art events in April, June, September and November. By wonderful coincidence, the next meeting of Shanghai Suomalaiset which was scheduled for the Tolman Collection has been changed to one of Shanghai's most sought-after venues. Though the exhibit is specially for art lovers, all Finns are invited to see the new hotel in all its glory.
